2024: Progress, Pivots, and Purpose

We have all heard the screeches of that one friend who wanted to make a change in their life, constantly said, “This is my year,” and then didn’t lift a finger. I can confidently say that was not me in 2024. As I reflect on all the changes that happened in my life, most came quietly into my life, like a cricket in your bedroom that once you hear the sound, you’re forced to turn the big light on to confront it.

I didn’t feel good, generally. I looked in the mirror sometimes and didn’t recognize myself; I wasn’t doing things to make me happy or invigorate my spirit, I was lost. The funny thing about complacency is once you turn that light on, you’re forced to confront it. So I did just that. I started working out, I started listening to more audiobooks, and I started finding more new music, which led to going to more concerts, it was like taking a breath of fresh air.
